A contest of poster design for the 26th Summer Universiade has raised its curtain, aimed at promoting spirit of the world university student sports games and making the city of Shenzhen better known.
This is the second contest of its kind, which is organized by the organizing committee of the 26th Summer Universiade. The committee will hold such a contest each year from 2008 to 2011.
The contest officially began on July 10, 2008. Themed on “youth, friendship and energy”, the contestants will be divided into two categories: category of students and category of professional designers. The organizers want to encourage young students to participate in the contest. They have also invited well known designers from China and abroad to participate in the event.
Voting for award-winning designs will start in early December. Six top award winners will be chosen from the contributions and used as promotional posters for the year 2009. A book containing award-winning designs will be published in January 2009. An exhibition of these designs and a ceremony for award presentation will be held in the same month.
